When creating desks for our office expansion, everyone decided on the sit/stand style. I’m not a big fan of the kind that move up and down so I thought I’d make them in the style of the original sit/stand desk shown in the first image… also known as a drafting table. 🤣 One more desk to go. @crosscuthardwoodsseattle @symmetryhardwareButton

The first photo is the condition of the kitchen when Pacific was invited to bid this project… The second photo is where we stand now. I purchased this Freud router, base, and fence on Craigslist more than 15 years ago. It sat in the table it came attached to most of the time and was never used because the table was warped. Fast forward to a year ago I fit it into the table saw wing at the shop. Today I decided the old MDF fence was ready to go and I replaced it with this Richlite countertop material I had laying around…. If you’re not familiar with Richlite it is made from recycled paper.Button

Prior to the owner turning this property into a rental, we shared many family dinners in this small kitchen. The house was originally purchased from someone who flips houses and during this process we uncovered 26 spliced wires inside the wall, above the ceiling, or beneath the floor (we stopped counting at 26). A wall which use to reside in the area of the island was discovered not to be original and was not secured to the floor and was not constructed tall enough to support the joists above. We replaced the free standing wall with a beam and new footings in the crawl space so the area could be opened and enjoyed.Button

The product of some after hours play time. As a builder/remodeler one of the things that breaks my heart is solid wood flooring. All that is useable of the 3/4” plank is from about 1/8” above the tongue and everything below becomes waste (trash) when it’s removed later. Solid wood flooring is less stable than a high quality engineered flooring. The Brazilian Cherry in this board was salvaged from one of our projects.Button
